Morelos Weather Forecast
Live weather data for Morelos powered by Weather Scope
Morelos is known as the "Land of Eternal Spring" thanks to Cuernavaca's famously pleasant subtropical climate at 1,510 meters elevation. Average temperatures hover around 21°C year-round with warm days reaching 28-30°C and comfortable nights that rarely drop below 10°C.
The rainy season from May through October brings reliable afternoon thunderstorms that deliver 800-1,200mm of annual precipitation. Despite its small size, the state has noticeable climate gradients from the cooler northern highlands near the Sierra del Ajusco to the warmer southern lowlands toward the Balsas River basin.
The proximity to major volcanic peaks including Popocatepetl means that ash fall can occasionally affect air quality in the northern parts of the state during active eruption periods. Cuernavaca's sheltered valley position protects it from the wind and cold that affect neighboring higher-altitude cities like Mexico City and Toluca.
