Montenegro climate

Montenegro's dramatic topography produces some of the most extreme weather contrasts in Europe. Podgorica is one of the warmest cities in the Balkans with summer temperatures regularly reaching 38-40°C.

The town of Crkvice holds records as one of the wettest places in Europe, receiving over 4,600mm annually. This creates astonishing contrasts with the relatively dry interior valleys.

The Adriatic coast enjoys a Mediterranean climate with dry, sunny summers and mild, rainy winters. The bora wind can strike with tremendous force in winter, occasionally exceeding 150 km/h.
