Mexico State Weather Radar
Live radar for Mexico State powered by Weather Scope
Mexico State (Estado de Mexico) surrounds Mexico City and features diverse terrain from the Toluca Valley at 2,660 meters to lower subtropical zones in the south. Toluca is one of the coldest major cities in Mexico, with average temperatures around 13°C and winter mornings that frequently drop below freezing.
The Nevado de Toluca volcano at 4,680 meters experiences winter snowfall and sub-zero temperatures, while the southern Tierra Caliente region has a much warmer tropical climate. Rainfall varies from 700mm in drier eastern areas to over 1,200mm in the mountainous west.
The state is prone to severe hailstorms during the summer rainy season, and the Toluca Valley is known for frequent fog that affects the nearby international airport. Frost is a major agricultural concern from October through March, particularly in the high-altitude areas around Toluca and Atlacomulco.
