Suriname Weather Forecast
Live weather data for Suriname powered by Weather Scope
Suriname is the smallest country in South America with a tropical equatorial climate characterized by high temperatures, humidity, and abundant rainfall. Paramaribo averages 27°C to 33°C with little seasonal temperature variation. Over 90% of the country is covered in pristine tropical rainforest.
Suriname has two wet seasons and two dry seasons. The primary wet season runs from April to August, and the secondary from December to February. Annual rainfall ranges from 1,750 mm on the coast to over 2,500 mm in the interior.
Suriname sits well south of the hurricane belt and faces virtually no tropical cyclone risk. The coastal plain is low-lying and vulnerable to tidal flooding and sea-level rise.
