Dominica climate

Dominica, known as the "Nature Isle of the Caribbean," is the most mountainous island in the Lesser Antilles, with peaks exceeding 1,400 meters. The rugged volcanic terrain creates extreme rainfall variation. Coastal temperatures average 26°C to 32°C.

The wet season from June to November brings intense rainfall, with the mountainous interior receiving over 7,500 mm annually. The drier season from February to May offers more sunshine, though rain can occur in any month.

Dominica is highly exposed to Atlantic hurricanes. Hurricane Maria in 2017 caused catastrophic damage, destroying over 90% of structures on the island.
