Tunisia Weather Radar

Live radar for Tunisia powered by Weather Scope

Tunisia enjoys a Mediterranean climate along its northern coast and the Cap Bon peninsula, with warm, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. Tunis averages around 470mm of rainfall annually, mostly falling between September and May. The Kroumirie Mountains in the northwest are the wettest part of the country, receiving over 1,000mm of precipitation per year and supporting dense cork oak forests.

Moving south through the Tunisian Dorsal mountain range, the climate transitions rapidly to semi-arid and then arid conditions. The central steppes around Kairouan and Gafsa receive limited rainfall and experience wide temperature variations between summer and winter. The Chott el Jerid, a vast salt lake in the south, sits in one of the hottest zones where summer temperatures frequently surpass 40°C.

The southern Saharan region of Tunisia, including the town of Tozeur and the Matmata hills, experiences desert conditions with extreme heat and negligible rainfall. Occasional flash floods can strike the dry wadis after rare but intense thunderstorms. Weather Scope provides accurate forecasts for Tunisia's beach resorts, archaeological sites, and desert tourism destinations alike.
