Connecticut Weather Forecast

Connecticut has a humid continental climate with four distinct seasons and weather that is heavily influenced by its position between the Atlantic Ocean and the interior of New England. The Great New England Hurricane of 1938 and Superstorm Sandy in 2012 both caused significant damage in the state.

Summers in Connecticut are warm and humid, with average highs in the mid-80s and occasional heat waves pushing temperatures into the upper 90s. Fall is perhaps the most celebrated season, with spectacular foliage displays drawing visitors to the state's wooded hillsides. Winters can be harsh, with January temperatures averaging in the upper 20s and frequent snowstorms affecting travel and daily life.
