The dry season from January to May brings sunny, warm weather. The wet season from June to December delivers heavier rainfall, peaking in September and October. Annual rainfall ranges from about 1,000 mm on the coast to over 3,800 mm in the interior.
Grenada's southern position places it at the edge of the hurricane belt. Hurricane Ivan in 2004 caused catastrophic destruction across the island.
