Barbados climate

Barbados is the easternmost Caribbean island, lying entirely in the Atlantic Ocean, with a tropical maritime climate. Temperatures remain remarkably consistent year-round, averaging 26°C to 30°C, with cooling trade winds providing natural relief.

The dry season extends from December to May. The wet season from June to November brings heavier showers, though rainfall is often brief. Annual precipitation averages about 1,275 mm on the coast and up to 2,000 mm in the higher Scotland District.

Barbados sits at the leading edge of the hurricane belt, making it the first Caribbean island to be affected by Atlantic tropical waves. The persistent northeast trade winds make the island a world-class destination for water sports.
