Tuvalu climate

Tuvalu experiences a hot and humid tropical maritime climate with average temperatures of 28-30°C and minimal seasonal variation. Annual rainfall averages around 3,000mm on the southern atolls.

As the fourth-smallest country in the world and one of the lowest-lying, with a maximum elevation of just 4.6 meters, Tuvalu is among the most climate-vulnerable nations on Earth.

The South Pacific Convergence Zone frequently influences Tuvalu's weather, bringing extended periods of heavy rainfall. Drought emergencies have been declared multiple times when dry months depleted rainwater catchment systems.
