Panama climate

Panama has a tropical maritime climate with consistently warm temperatures and high humidity throughout the year. Panama City averages 27°C to 33°C with little seasonal variation.

The dry season runs from mid-December to April. The wet season from May to November brings heavy afternoon thunderstorms, especially on the Caribbean slope, which can receive over 4,000 mm of rain annually.

Panama sits south of the main hurricane belt, making direct strikes rare. Highland areas around Volcán Barú can see temperatures drop below 5°C and occasional frost.
