Moldova Weather

Moldova climate

Moldova has a moderate continental climate with warm summers and cold winters. Chișinău experiences average summer highs of 27-30°C and winter lows around -5°C, though extreme cold spells can bring temperatures below -20°C.

The country's rolling terrain provides little protection from sweeping weather systems. Hot, dry winds from the southeast can bring drought conditions and temperatures exceeding 38°C in summer.

Rainfall peaks in June and July with frequent thunderstorms. The wine-growing regions in the south benefit from a slightly warmer microclimate with more sunshine hours.
