Luxembourg climate

Luxembourg has an oceanic climate moderated by its position between the Ardennes highlands in the north and the lower Moselle valley in the southeast. Summers are pleasantly warm with averages of 22-25°C.

The northern Oesling region sits higher than the southern Gutland and receives more rainfall and snowfall. The Moselle River valley enjoys a milder microclimate suitable for wine production.

Rainfall is well-distributed throughout the year, averaging about 800mm annually. The country frequently experiences extended grey periods from November through February.
