Croatia climate

Croatia's unique crescent shape gives it two distinct climate zones: a continental interior with hot summers and cold winters, and a Mediterranean coast along the Adriatic with mild, wet winters and hot, dry summers.

The Adriatic coast is famous for the bora wind, a strong cold northeasterly that can reach hurricane-force speeds in winter. Summer along the coast brings reliably sunny weather with temperatures of 28-33°C.

Dubrovnik and the southern Dalmatian coast receive exceptionally high rainfall in autumn and winter. Inland Croatia around Slavonia experiences the most extreme temperature range.
