Vanuatu climate

Vanuatu experiences a tropical maritime climate with a distinct wet season from November to April and a cooler dry season from May to October. Average temperatures range from 22°C in the south during winter to 30°C in the north during summer.

The country is one of the most cyclone-prone nations on Earth, ranked by the United Nations as the world's most at-risk country for natural disasters. Cyclone Pam in 2015 struck with Category 5 intensity.

Vanuatu's volcanic terrain significantly influences local weather, with active volcanoes creating their own microclimates. Orographic rainfall drenches windward slopes while leeward sides remain comparatively dry.
