Belize Weather Radar
Live radar for Belize powered by Weather Scope
Belize has a subtropical climate with warm temperatures throughout the year, averaging 24°C to 33°C along the coast. The Caribbean Sea moderates temperatures, while trade winds provide relief from the heat. Humidity is consistently high, particularly in the low-lying coastal areas and cays.
The wet season extends from June to November, coinciding with the Atlantic hurricane season, and brings heavy afternoon showers and occasional tropical storms. The dry season from February to May offers sunny skies and the lowest rainfall totals. A short transitional period in January can bring cool fronts known locally as "northers" that temporarily drop temperatures.
Belize's barrier reef, the second largest in the world, influences local weather patterns by tempering wave action and storm surge. The southern Toledo district receives the most rainfall in the country, often exceeding 4,000 mm annually, while the northern Corozal district is considerably drier.
