Uzbekistan Weather Forecast
Live weather data for Uzbekistan powered by Weather Scope
Uzbekistan has a sharply continental and arid climate, with hot summers, cold winters, and very low annual precipitation across most of the country. The vast Kyzylkum Desert occupying the central and western regions experiences summer temperatures regularly surpassing 45°C, while winter temperatures in Tashkent can drop well below -10°C.
Rainfall is concentrated in the cooler months from November to April, with summers being almost entirely dry. The eastern regions near Tashkent and in the Fergana Valley receive 300-500 mm of precipitation annually, while the desert interior and the area around the shrinking Aral Sea receive less than 100 mm, making irrigation essential for agriculture.
The catastrophic shrinkage of the Aral Sea, once the world's fourth-largest lake, has dramatically altered local climate conditions in the Karakalpakstan region. Summers have become hotter and winters colder without the lake's moderating influence, and toxic dust storms now blow salt and pesticide residues from the exposed seabed across surrounding communities. The mountainous eastern fringe near the Tian Shan foothills enjoys a markedly different microclimate with cooler temperatures and more reliable rainfall.
