Togo Weather Radar
Live radar for Togo powered by Weather Scope
Togo is a narrow West African nation stretching 570 kilometers from the Gulf of Guinea coast to the Sahel, creating a remarkable north-south climate gradient within a country only 160 kilometers wide. Lom\u00e9, the coastal capital, has a tropical savanna climate with surprisingly moderate rainfall of about 890mm annually, as it sits in a relative rain shadow along the Dahomey Gap. The southern coast experiences two rainy seasons separated by a short dry spell in August.
The central highlands around Kpalim\u00e9 and the Plateaux Region receive the country's heaviest rainfall, exceeding 1,500mm annually, and support lush tropical vegetation including cocoa and coffee plantations. The Togo Mountains running through the center of the country intercept moisture-laden air from the southwest, creating wetter conditions on the windward slopes. Temperatures in the highlands are noticeably cooler than both the humid coast and the hot northern savanna.
Northern Togo has a Sudanese climate with a single rainy season from April to October and a harsh dry season marked by the harmattan wind. The far north around Dapaong experiences temperatures exceeding 38°C during the hot season and can see overnight lows drop to 16°C during the harmattan. Weather Scope provides accurate forecasts for Togo's diverse climate zones, from the humid coast to the semi-arid north, helping communities prepare for seasonal weather changes.
